One of my trees at the new house is blossoming out. I don't know what kind it is. My thought was dog wood, cherry, or apple blossom. I know it's not a redbud because I have another one that is one of those.

Bees like it - please excuse the bee bum in the shot!

Anyone know what it is? (this pic makes a great desktop pic by the way, feel free to use it if you want)

We have a tree that looks a lot like that when it blooms. Ours is a flowering crab apple tree. They sure are beautiful when they bloom. Ours attracts a lot of bees also.

Definitely not a dogwood, maybe cherry or crabapple. It'll be interesting to see what fruit it bears in a few months!

I think it's a flowering cherry from looking at the smooth bark. It may or may not have fruit.

It's a flowering crab. We've got a few in our back yard too, but they aren't anywhere near ready to bloom yet! You will get tiny little crab apples that keep the Robins happy all winter long.

I have a few pics of ours for comparison, but they must be on my home computer. If I remember tonight, I'll post them for you.

They are beautiful, but don't last long so enjoy! :D

Yes don't dogwood have white bark?

My grandma had one and it was absolutely gorgeous! Though I can't remember what it was called :(

Hm, it looks more like a cherry tree to me - the crabapple trees seem to be more whiteish in the center, atleast from what I've seen?? Also, it seems Crabapple trees have more foliage - MOFF's doesn't look like it has much? Here's a few pics to show what I'm talking about.

Cherry Tree (notice the same color in center as MOFF's)

To me, it looks like a cherry tree - also judging from the branches, but then, I don't know what a crap tree looks like. ;)

Hope it bears fruit - enough to feed Mario. :D

I wonder if you posted what the entire tree looks like, if that wouldn't help... but, here are a couple links to maybe compare some of the other aspects of the tree that maybe you would know...

I think it's a cherry.

Cherries just picked from the tree while enjoying the evening breeze...delicious!!! :)

Could be Prunus cerasifera nigra, a kind of plum.

Please feel free to use it!!! :D

I think the tree is a form of cherry. I will admit that my favorite guess so far has been the crap tree! hehe (sorry Randi but that makes me giggle)!!!

Here is a pic of the entire tree. It still has no leaves yet!!! :D
Please ignore the house! We are going to have it painted this summer.
