They featured this place on today's "Pet Keeping with Marc Morrone". Artist Stephen Huneck has his home and studio on Dog Mountain and built the Chapel in 1999. He had a very life changing near-death experience that brought him to this "field of work". It sounds like such a neat place! I haven't seen his books before, but they look adorable. Most feature his RB black lab Sally and her various adventures. Anyway, thought the dog lovers would be interested. :D

Huneck's website: http://www.dogmt.com/

Vermont Living Magazine's page about it: http://www.vtliving.com/attractions/dogchapel/

I love the sign at the front of the Chapel that says...
WELCOME
ALL CREEDS
ALL BREEDS
NO DOGMAS ALLOWED
:)

Maybe someday I can visit. Then I could put RB Jack's photo on the Remembrance Wall.
Doesn't it sound like such a beautiful and peaceful place? :)

Yes I've heard of it and have seen Hunecks gallery in Vermont. Some of his work features Daschunds and Scotties but most of the time he features Labs. I've been meaning to visit the dog chapel. It looks like a beautiful place. Perhaps I'll make a point of it this Summer. Thanks for the links.

YES! I have heard about it. In fact, we were at a restaurant up in Middlebury I think, and they had an advertisement for it on the table. It sounds really cool, but we have never taken the opportunity to go. Maybe someday :)
