Kodie has a yeast infection in his ear.How do we know its cleared up 100%?Its clearing up really fast and his ears seem good.He gets drops twice a day and the vet said to clean his ears everyother day, which we've been doing. And we're going away next week,so hopefully it doesnt come back.

With regular ear infections dogs shake their heads a lot. If you do what the doc says and your dog doesn't shake his head I would think it's gone.

Yeah, Ginger has had yeast infections in those long droopy ears several times now. It is particularly prevalent amongst dogs with longer, droopy ears. And yes, she would shake her head and her ears would be flapping so hard and fast that it looks like she would take off and get airborne.

Also when it was at it's worst, she would scratch with her back feet into her ears. Lick her toes/nails and back to scratching/digging. REALLY SMELLY TOO!!! But likeothers have said, follow the Vet's instructions and it will go away. Also, keep cleaning and look for the dark black sooty sort of discharge that is the yeast.
