Death Row Dog Rescue needs help, or loving and completely adoptabledogswill die in gas chambers. Most of these dogs are young and healthy animals that were either not reclaimed by their people or simply discarded like yesterday's trash. Unfortunately, some are pregnant; there are dogs that were probably hours away from labor for which the end of their lives and those of the yet unborn were ended in these gas chambers.
Death Row Dog Rescue is volunteer-based organization dedicated to saving these homeless and abandoned dogs on death row. We found each other in the wake of the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina; there was little we could do to help the animals whose lives were lost in the floodwaters. We can do something about these healthy dogs on the threshold of the gas chambers.We remove them from a tragic fate, provide them with medical attention, spay/neuter them and then relocate them to shelters and rescues in other states that can give them the second chance they deserve. Since inception, October 2005, we have rescued over 450 animals with the help of our members and supporters. These dogs thatwere once ondeath row without even having committed a crime are now are in homes with families who love, respect, and care for them as companion animals; a gift they have earned and deserve. Although we have been able to accomplish so much by these generous donations, weRECENTLY WE HAVE MET SOME FINANCIAL OBSTACLES. To continue our rescue operations, we need help …from you. Each person can make a difference and therefore we welcome all concerned people to our group and forum. This is a difficult task and therefore we need volunteers to help in all areas: placement, organization, publicity, fundraising etc. We are currently in the process of becoming 501C and hope that this will help facilitate our success further.
